When your business approach is very hands on trying to wind down and escape work whilst you and your family go away for two weeks is not as easy as it sounds. Two weeks away in Mexico and getting married whilst I was there was planned to be a relaxing memorable break and the big debate was should I take my laptop or not. I did and it’s a good job I did!
The time difference helped a little as the six hours behind meant I could work whilst Jane and the teenagers slept. WhatsApp was used and abused and the emails flowed with new schemes being offered, sales progression issues or agreeing new sales on buy to let property or agreeing sales on the freeholds. Team members back in the UK were great but some things needed to be dealt with. I didn’t mind, family understand and it’s simply part of business life.
In the two weeks I was in Mexico we agreed sales in Selby, Barnsley, Liverpool, Rochdale, Congleton, Clacton on Sea and Swadlincote. New buy to let property opportunities came up in North Shields, South Yorkshire and County Durham.
All good fun, a positive and busy period when often July can be traditionally quiet. I even got a tan whilst working!
