Joining a small team of just three to organise a sizable charity dinner is a challenge and some thought we were mad to even attempt it with our own busy business lives but we did it! James Beattie from See It Now Sports, Mark Young from John Walton (Machine Tools) Ltd and I started this some months ago and have met more times than I can remember over breakfast or lunch and kept things moving nicely.
All of it was only possible down to many people’s kind generosity, the talent of our MC John Williams from Huddersfield Town Football Club, the experience and wit of Andy Sellers of Boultons Estate Agency for his auctioneering skills, Graham Clay from EvolveBM for his generosity, Andrew Toothill from Enterprise Print for his support, patience and delivery and and many more that are too many to mention, but thank you.
Of course the charities are key here and we chose three superb charities with local connections who do some amazing work. Their support through the process has been amazing and we hope we did them proud. Huge thanks to The Laura Crane Trust, The Hollybank Trust and the Jo Cox Foundation.
Subject to final confirmation the 140 who attended raised over eighteen thousand pounds. That’s truly more than we had expected. Huge respect to all.
